Citrus ichangensis

lemon fruit tree

Moderate leaf loss
Citrus ichangensis
  • Solitary
  • Hardy to -15 °C
Semi-hardy and -evergreen lemon. Bush with erect habit and impressing spines. Beautiful white flowers with a lovely scent, fruits yellow, grapefruit-like. This lemon tastes like a grapefruit and may be eaten with sugar, but I didn't really enjoy it. Most probably hardy against a South-facing wall with winterprotection. Americans say it's hardy till -18 °C !!! Seedlingts are available.
